Maggie White is a renowned West Coast artist. She
paints in watercolour, acrylics and mixed media. “I like the fragility, detail
and luminosity I can achieve with watercolour and I love the bright colours,
textures and spontaneity I can achieve with acrylics. When I paint I chose the
medium best suited to my subject and the mood I wish to create.”
Maggie White is a renowned West Coast artist. She was born in England and
attended art schools there. She immigrated to Canada in 1975 and is now a Canadian
citizen living on the West Coast of Canada. She is the BC Director for the Canadian
Society of Painters in Watercolour and a signature member. She is also a signature
member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and past president of the Port Moody
Art Association.
Maggie has had one-woman shows in Vancouver, Calgary and throughout the Lower
Mainland. Her work has been exhibited across Canada in group shows. She is
currently represented by on Vancouver’s finest galleries. She has also participated
in many juried shows and is the recipient of several awards including two “best
in show” cash awards, five honourable mentions in Fraser Valley Regional shows
and an “Excellence in the Arts” award presented at a banquet with five district
mayors attending.
Maggie has successfully published several limited edition prints which can
be viewed in some of the most popular West Coast resorts as well as local banks
and businesses. She also publishes art cards and Christmas cards. For the last
three years she as donated an image to Vancouver’s Children’s Hospital, Christmas
card fund-raiser. Maggie’s cards of local scenes sell out every year.
